Tears roll down

Tears roll down a puffed up cheek
On to a pillow as comfort I seek
Hands that clench a flannel sheet
Ears that hear a lonely heartbeat

A side of my bed empty and cold
As I curl up into a fold
Search for warmth of body and soul
I drank a sip from your venomous bowl

Eyes that cry but will not sleep
As red as roses, as I weep and weep
From this nightmare I wish to leap
Yet the anchor of love pulls me deep

Check the clock, only seconds have past
A wish, a prayer, O mercy come fast
Though mine is heard as always at last
A broken dream, a nightmare cast

A mind gone crazy, a heart lost it’s way
For comfort and ease I can only pray
Nights in tears, aimless days
Thoughts in mind, though nothing to say

Memories of you I try to reject
Hopelessly failing, my tears regret
How it could’ve been, my heart reflects
Frustration rising the more I reflect

Tears keep falling as clock strikes three
My heart keeps calling a lonely plea
O how this pain I wish would flea
This season’s rain is falling on me

Tears roll down a stream on my cheek
Today, tomorrow, they all look bleak
Time goes by, no more I sleep
Silenced enhanced by a lonely heartbeat.
